We are now hiring a Food Safety & Quality Technical Speciliast in our La Rousse Foods Business to cover the eveninng shift 3.30PM - 11PM (Monday - Friday) located in Park West Industrial Park - Dublin.

This role is responsible for providing Food Safety & Quality support at each of the stages along the supply chain, including supplier, raw material intake, production, product management and Customer

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the sites Food Safety & Quality Management systems and all associated procedures, policies, and records.  
  • Ensure products produced are meeting specification through internal monitoring procedures and product assessments.
  • Responsibility for Product specifications – raw material, finished product (including nutrional information) and process (QAS).
  • Responsible for ensuring the Product Quality Inspection points are being effectively optimised to improve product quality awareness throughout the business and ensure a consistent product quality approach is achieved.
  • Responsible for following key activities including but not limited to:
    • Daily, Weekly, Monthly QC Checks as per TS activity plan to ensure site & product FS&Q Standards are being maintained.
    • HACCP/CCP Verification checks.
    • Product inspection – raw material, in process and finished product.
    • Cleaning verification checks and environmental hygiene monitoring.
    • Ensuring product testing schedule is being adhered to.  Results trending.
    • Supplier Approval
    • Product Validations.
    • Equipment calibration
    • Micro sampling
    • Internal audits e.g., hygiene and glass audits
  • Co-ordinate customer complaints investigation, liaising with relevant stakeholders both internal and external, including the consumer to successfully close-out.
  • Non-conformance reporting and corrective action implementation.
  • Review and maintain quality documents.
  • Ensure full product traceability is maintained at all stages of the process.
  • Attend all meetings as request by direct report and engage positively and contribute to same.
  • Completion of Project work as directed by the Food Safety and Quality Team to improve Food Safety and Quality initiatives within the Musgrave business.
  • Ensure Compliance with ISO and FSSC 22000 standards and customer standards

The ideal candidate will have/be:

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Science/ Food Science Qualification Essential – Diploma level at a minimum.
  • Minimum 1 years QA/QC experience in Food Manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Computer literate
  • Flexibility, quick learner, problem solver, good communication and organisational skills.
  • Have the ability to work on one’s own initiative as well as part of a team. 
  • High attention to detail, problem solver and strong communication skills.

The work pattern of this position is evening shifts, Monday- Friday, 3.30PM - 11PM.
