Two stores honoured with awards at the SuperValu National Conference 2019

Smith’s SuperValu in Navan, Co Meath has been named best large store and Garvey’s SuperValu Corbally won best small store at the SuperValu National Conference 2019.

Both stores beat stiff competition from other finalists to receive their awards at the conference, held in the Great Southern Hotel, Killarney.

The teams were presented with their award by Martin Kelleher, SuperValu Managing Director, Ian Allen, SuperValu Sales Director and JF Michel, Account Director of Three Business, the competition’s sponsors.

The two winning stores beat competing outlets throughout the Republic of Ireland, which were audited and adjudicated by independent competition judge and retail consultant, Matthew Brown. The store audits focused on product range and quality, customer service, store presentation and innovation, fresh food offering and store hygiene standards.

Receiving their award, Denis Smith paid tribute to his team in Navan and acknowledged that their enthusiasm and dedication was instrumental in the store scooping the award. “I’d like to thank all of the hard-working, dedicated staff for this great victory. We’re lucky to have great employees working for us who strive to deliver the best customer experience, day in day out.”
