Partnering for change

At Musgrave, our purpose and values inspire us to be a better business, and to put sustainability at the heart of what we do. As a business that operates in every community across the island of Ireland, we have a responsibility to work with our retail partners, suppliers and colleagues to take action and to influence others to do likewise.

We have an exceptional network of retail partners – local entrepreneurs who are passionate about their communities, committed to sustainability and to making a real difference to people’s lives. We are backing our retail partners with a €25 million sustainability fund, which will act as a catalyst for change, enabling stores to reduce their carbon footprint at pace. This will reduce their carbon footprint by more than 10,000 tonnes of CO2 per year – equivalent to planting 380,000 trees or powering 5,000 homes per year.

Musgrave also works with thousands of local suppliers and artisan producers that want to make a positive impact, whether reducing waste and emissions or finding better ways of farming or producing food. By working together and using our scale and influence, we can deliver big changes collectively.

Caring for the planet

Today our planet is facing a Climate Emergency, we need to radically reduce our impacts, and act with a sense of urgency if we are to reverse the damage already done. At Musgrave we are committed to becoming a Net Zero Carbon business by 2040.
