Musgrave re-accredited as a verified member of Origin Green

Earlier this month, Musgrave was re-accredited as a verified member of Origin Green – Ireland’s national sustainability programme for the food and beverage industry and the only one worldwide that operates on a national scale, uniting government, the private sector, food producers and food retailers.

Since its launch in June 2012, Origin Green has grown and developed to include over 50,000 farmer members and over 500 food and drink manufacturers. It sets out Ireland’s ambition to become a world leader in the delivery of sustainable, high-quality food and beverage products and has also become the principal platform from which to promote Irish goods across the global marketplace, supporting an industry whose exports last year exceeded €10.8 billion.

“At Musgrave, we recognise that if we a want to make a real impact we must work in partnership with others to create a movement for large scale positive change. As a member of Origin Green, we are contributing to a national programme that works across the food and beverage industry. Annual external audits and stretch targets for all members mean that we are continually challenged to grow and develop our sustainability credentials as an Origin Green member. We are delighted that we have once again achieved the high standards demanded.” John Curran, Head of Sustainability, Musgrave.
