Musgrave Northern Ireland, whose brands include SuperValu, Centra, Musgrave MarketPlace, MACE and Drinks Inc, has been awarded the GroceryAid gold award in recognition of its support for the grocery industry charity.
The gold award for 2021 has been awarded to 93 companies across the UK, including industry member Musgrave NI, which have participated in eight activities across three pillars – awareness, fundraising and volunteering.
Desi Derby, Director of Marketing for Musgrave NI and NI Grocery Aid Committee Member said:
“GroceryAid is a fantastic charity from which thousands of people receive much needed support every year. We are delighted to be among the 93 companies which have received the gold award, which is a testament to the enthusiasm and contribution of our colleagues from across the business. I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who showed their support and encourage anyone in the sector who needs help, to look at what is available and reach out to GroceryAid.”
GroceryAid will this year help over 20,000 people across the industry – from manufacturing and distribution to supermarkets and support functions – by providing a range of free services from financial and practical support to emotional support via a 24/7 helpline and counselling services.
GroceryAid day will take place on 26 April, when over 200 companies in the trade will come together to raise awareness and let more colleagues across the industry know about the services and support available to them through the charity.
