Five local SuperValu, Centra and MACE stores have been awarded the prestigious title of ‘Store of the Year’ at Musgrave’s annual awards ceremony.
The Musgrave awards ceremony celebrates and recognises the achievements, hard work and dedication of its retail partners across the three brands.
SuperValu Woods’ Fruitfield in Armagh claimed the title of SuperValu Store of the Year, recognised for its outstanding service, friendly and welcoming staff, as well as its excellent standards, and support for the community. The store was also awarded Sustainable Store of the Year celebrating the environmental measures introduced to reduce its carbon footprint.
Centra McGleenan’s Keady scooped the Centra Foodmarket Store of the Year award for the second time, acknowledged for its high customer service standards, community ethos and strong sales driven by a hardworking team. In the Centra High-Convenience category, Centra Boal and Martin’s Great Victoria Street in Belfast was awarded Store of the Year, recognised for excellent customer service and range – ‘a small store that packs a big punch’.
MACE large format Store of the Year went to Mace Dolan’s Gortin Road in Omagh, for the second year running, for its fantastic range and service, while in the small format category, MACE Gracey’s Gasworks in Belfast scooped the title. A dedicated team that provides exceptional food to go standards matched with great customer service, propelled this store to win the award.
Also on the night, SuperValu Downpatrick and Centra Carrickfergus were champions in the Musgrave owned store categories.
The ceremony also saw SuperValu McCool’s Ballymoney and Centra Bradley’s Maghera crowned Fundraisers of the Year for Action Cancer, while MACE Royal Victoria Hospital received the same award for its work with Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke.
Trevor Magill, Managing Director of Musgrave Northern Ireland said: “The Musgrave Store of the Year awards provide us the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements, hard work and dedication of our retail partners and Musgrave owned stores, across our three brands.
“I want to say a huge thank you to all our retailers who work so hard to maintain the highest standards across our brands. Congratulations to all the finalists and award winners who never fail to deliver the best customer service to communities across Northern Ireland.”
The awards ceremony was hosted by radio presenter and DJ Pete Snodden last Thursday night in The Culloden Estate and Spa Hotel. Finalists are selected following several rigorous rounds of performance and standards audits, with the highest accolade being ‘Store of the Year’.
