Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland today launched its Diploma in Fresh Food Management, which is being run in conjunction with the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). Applications are currently being received for the course, which commences in September 2011. This course is being offered in addition to a Bachelor of Business Studies (Hons.) degree in Retail Management and a Diploma in Retail Management.
The Diploma in Fresh Food Management is the first of its kind in Ireland and is being offered exclusively to SuperValu and Centra employees. The programme is a collaborative partnership between Dublin Institute of Technology, Musgrave and its retail partners.
The course will develop students management experience and provide opportunities to expand their skills, while gaining real insight into the strategies and operations that play a vital role in the Fresh Food Category. It is designed to equip students with the tools and knowledge they will need to manage the fresh food department in store as well as helping them to develop their broader business knowledge
Speaking about the programmes, Shea Fahy, HR Director for Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland said, “We are delighted to announce the launch of a new Diploma in Fresh Food Management. Musgrave is focused on delivering the highest quality produce throughout its stores in Ireland. The Diploma in Fresh Food Management is an exciting opportunity for SuperValu and Centra employees to expand their knowledge base and invest in their careers. We place a huge emphasis on training and development across all our stores and consider our people to be the cornerstone of the organisation. Through programmes such as the Diploma in Fresh Food Management we are continually raising the bar for the Fresh Food Management in Ireland.”
