MRPNI Store of the Year winners announced at annual awards

MRPNI’s Acting Managing Director, Damian McCarney, Michael Boyd of Mace Toomebridge, Ciaran O’Kane of SuperValu Dungiven and David Kelly of Centra, Trench Road.

O’Kane’s SuperValu Dungiven, owned by Ciaran O’Kane, Kelly’s Centra Trench Road, owned by David Kelly and Boyd’s Mace Toomebridge, owned by Cahal Boyd were named ‘Store of the Year’ winners at MRPNI’s annual awards.

Northern Ireland TV personality Claire McCollum hosted the prestigious event at the Slieve Donard hotel in Newcastle, Co. Down for 300 retailers and MRPNI Head Office staff. The Awards recognise the ‘best-in-class’ retailers across SuperValu NI, Centra NI and Mace NI with the winners demonstrating the highest levels of commitment to customer service and retail excellence.

Robert and Dympna Millen, owners of Centra Carrickfergus, Prince Andrew Way picked up the ‘Newcomer of the Year’ award and SuperValu Limavady won ‘Fundraising Store of the Year’ for raising £9,408 for charity partner Action Cancer.

This year’s Western theme was ‘Leading The Way’ with entertainment including line dancers from Academy Dance Studio, Newry and Garth Brooks tribute band, Friends in Low Places.

The awards were sponsored by Allied Bakeries, Coca-Cola Hellenic, Tayto and Kerry Foods.

Centra High Convenience Bronze: McGoveran’s, Centra, Stranmillis

Centra Foodmarket Gold: Kelly’s Centra, Trench Road
Centra Foodmarket Silver: McCool’s, Centra, Ballymena
Centra Foodmarket Bronze: McElhinney’s Centra, Omagh, Brookmount

Mace NI Store of the Year: Boyd’s Mace, Toomebridge

Mace Under 1800 sq ft Gold: Boyd’s Mace, Toomebridge
Mace Under 1800 sq ft Silver: Courtney’s Mace, Lisnaskea
Mace Under 1800 sq ft Bronze: Dolan’s Mace, Gortin Road, Omagh
