
SuperValu Portglenone, Co. Antrim finalist Kathy O’Neill has been crowned SuperValu Northern Ireland SuperMum 2014, at a prestigious awards ceremony held at Parliament Buildings, Stormont, Belfast.

Thirty mums from across Northern Ireland were honoured at the ceremony which was attended by their family and friends, SuperValu retailers, sponsors and MRPNI representatives. The evening also saw SuperValu Comber, Co. Down finalist Rosemary Day announced as a runner-up alongside SuperValu Fintona, Co. Tyrone finalist Jennifer Keys.
Mother of two Kathy was crowned the winner by a judging panel who described her as “Wonder Woman” for her courage in caring for her son Caiden who was diagnosed with cancer at 5 months old. Kathy has also helped raise £24,000 for Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children and many other local charities.
Winner Kathy O’Neill said: “I am absolutely shocked and speechless to be named SuperValu SuperMum 2014. I was not expecting this at all, it was just so nice to be nominated along with so many other great mums.”
“It has been a difficult few years balancing being a working mum and dealing with Caiden’s illness but my friends and family have been a great support as well as my daughter Ellie” she added.
