Supervisor

We are recruiting for a Supervisor on a temporary contract for 9 months - 1 year, working 30 hours per week, covering day, evening and weekend shifts.

The role of supervisor is to assist in the day to day overall running of a store and maximizing the SuperValu Brand and Sales, which will involve delivery of the following duties:
Delivery of excellent customer service and maintaining high standards within the store
Development and driving forward certain categories in store
Identifying opportunities to increase sales
Ensuring the store adheres to Health & Safety and Environmental Health Standards.
Completing sales and costs reports as and when required
Ensuring orders are accurate and submitted on time
Preparing staff rota`s
Staff Supervision, including conducting Return to Work Interviews, Staff Investigations and ensuring full compliance to the Company`s employment policies.
Being responsible for the store in the absence of the Store Manager

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Essential:

-Recent experience in a busy convenience or supermarket retailing at key colleague in a sales based environment with some experience of margin
-Excellent attention to detail in store standards
-Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

Desirable:

-Good working knowledge of all fresh food areas and an ability to support in maintaining an exceptionally high standard of operational efficiency throughout the store
-Proven experience in the areas of stock control, people skills, cost control, rota planning, HACCP implementation.
-Further education in related discipline i.e. retail or business
-Experience gained in food retail
-Management or Supervisory qualification
-PO Experience
-Fresh food operation i.e. bakery, FTG, Deli, provisions and coffee
