Management Accountant – Finance Business Partner

The Management Accountant role has three distinct responsibilities:
The role will work very closely with the SuperValu and Centra Sales teams, as well as the MRPI Management Team, reporting on our customer’s purchasing loyalty (wholesale purchases as a % of what retailers buy). The role will deliver clear insight on Brand and Store loyalty to the Sales Teams to enable them to engage our customers in a proactive way to drive loyalty to Musgrave.
The role includes the Management of the Retailer LTA / PBR process (these are rebates we pay to our retailers), accounting for a budget of €210m of a payable, forecasting and controlling all aspects and engaging the Sales and MRPI Management teams to manage the process.
The role also includes being the Finance Business Partner to the Frank & Honest, Business Development and Store Development teams, supporting, challenging, influencing, and governing their areas to achieve financial and operational targets.
This will include the provision of timely Management Information for use within the department and the wider Musgrave Business. The Management Accountant will provide 'real time' support and analysis, to be a trusted adviser / financial leader who provides value adding insights whilst delivering excellent commercial outcomes,
Key responsibilities of this role include but not limited to:
- Owning the financials underpinning the Departments Strategic planning process by compiling Quarterly forecasts, Annual budget & 3YP. Providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reports to these departmental business strategies.
- The co-ordination of the periodic financial reporting including investigating & understanding variances with relevant parties.
- Completion of timely loyalty reports each month for the SuperValu and Centra brands, delivering clear, actionable insight and responding to any queries from our Retailers and internal stakeholders.
- Completion of monthly and quarterly payments cycles to Retailers for LTA and PBR rebates, including review with Sales Finance Directors of exceptional payments
- Continuous development of current reporting suite across Loyalty, Rebates and Departmental costs to enhance understanding of performance, including a focus on digitalizing across all areas.
- Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders and teams.
- Contributing and providing support to any relevant cross-functional project Initiatives as required.
The ideal candidate will possess all or most of the below:
- A qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in a similar role
- The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment, demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgment showing logical decision making, with a proven ability to influence at a senior level in the organization.
- Previous experience of working in a large, highly structured company
- Previous experience of forecasting and budget setting
- Be highly numeric & analytical and have advanced excel skills.
- A high level of attention to detail, systems focus and excellent problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with an ability to build relationships across functions.
This is a 12 month contract
