In Musgrave, we believe our people are our most important resource and the safety and security of our colleagues is fundamental in all that we do. To assist us achieve this common goal, a vacancy now exists for a Health and Safety Coordinator for our Transport Function. Based from our Leinster Sites, and working between the sites and across our Transport Function in ROI. The main responsibilities and duties of this role include but not limited to:

  • Provide health & safety support and advice to Transport Management, and to all colleagues  in order for them to fulfil their health and safety responsibilities and obligations.
  • Lead and support the delivery of Transport Health & Safety Improvement Projects.
  • Implementation of Health & Safety Management systems across the Transport Functions and assist in ongoing development and implementation of effective health and safety systems, policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership & direction on all Health & Safety processes.
  • Ensure H&S legislative compliance and best practice at all times.
  • Improve, and further develop accident & incident reduction / prevention programs.
  • Develop, implement and update health & safety policies and procedures
  • Assess, organise and provide Management H&S training as required.
  • Conduct risk assessment & review current risk assessments to develop improvement programs to reduce risk across the Transport functions.
  • Ensuring H&S surveys, audits and inspections are completed. 
  • Provide communication & awareness of all health & safety issues through regular monthly safety meetings in each area.
  • Design, plan and present H&S training programs from induction to specialist requirements.
  • Manage and monitor the personal and motor accident / incident processes and assist with accident investigations through to making recommendations and implementing appropriate actions.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • 3rd level Diploma in Safety, Health & Welfare at Work from a recognised institution, and a current member of IOSH
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Confident & assertive in nature
  • Excellent organisational ability & the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement process
  • Computer literate
  • The ideal candidate will have 5 years post qualification experience as a practicing fulltime health & safety professional including three years in a high volume logistical or manufacturing environment.
  • They should have at a minimum achieved a Diploma in Safety, Health & Welfare at Work and possess excellent technical knowledge.
  • They will be both a team player and have the ability to work on their own initiative, be self-motivated and have a consistent work methodology.
