Floor Supervisor

Role Specification & Purpose:

Musgrave Wholesale Partners are an Irish family business established in 1876. We are a leading supplier to the retail and food service sectors, and play a strong and vibrant role in supporting local communities. We are currently recruiting for the position of Floor Supervisor, where the successful candidate will effectively, as a member of the supervisory management team, hold a vital role in the management of the sales floor, supervising and mentoring colleagues, while actively managing stock replenishment, stock integrity and ensuring consistent delivery of our `First for Service` value.

Area of Responsibility: Operations

Key Activities:

  • Ensuring full evening stock replenishment is fully executed each evening.
  • Ensuring all sections are merchandised to the highest standards.
  • Executing promotions in line with promotional guidelines and on-shelf availability targets.
  • Working in partnership with Re-Order team to ensure correct stock levels at all times and taking responsibility for specific orders where relevant.
  • Investigating and striving to eliminate all service failures attributed to replenishment on a daily basis.
  • Managing waste & shrinkage effectively.
  • Driving the consistent achievement of company excellence standards and monthly KPI`s, to include but not limited to:
  • Must stock/average stock availability.
  • On-shelf availability / Point of sale accuracy.
  • General housekeeping standards.
  • Store, quality & food safety audits.

  • Ensuring excellent customer service is provided to each customer.
  • Proactively recruiting and retaining customers and maximising all upselling opportunities.

Area of Responsibility: People Management

Key Activities:

  • Effectively communicating, mentoring, managing & motivating your team.
  • Supervising & managing all direct reports, including holiday requests, absence management, performance and timekeeping issues.
  • Providing input into the collation of the staff rotas to ensure adequate staffing needs are met at all times.

Area of Responsibility: Health & Safety

Key Activities:

Under the 2005 Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act, managers are responsible for their own health, safety and wellbeing while at work, as well as that of their staff. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the safety, health and welfare of your employees while a work.
  • Managing and conducting work activities in such a way as to ensure the safety, health and welfare of all colleagues.
  • Managing and conducting work activities in such a way as to prevent any improper conduct or behaviour likely to endanger any colleague.
  • Implementing the company`s safety, health and welfare measures necessary for protecting its employees.

  • Health & safety compliance
  • Accident, injury and incident metrics.
  • Attendance at health and safety training, as required.
  • Implementation of health and safety measures.
  • Monthly KPI`s.
  • Performance management.

Essential Knowledge & Experience

  • Previous experience in a supervisory management role.
  • Previous experience in a Wholesale and Retail environment
  • Ability to lead & work as part of a team.
  • Previous people-management experience.
  • Previous sales & customer service experience.
  • Customer-focused with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Microsoft Office proficient.
