Role Purpose: |
The role assumes full responsibility for the purchasing, production and serving of all food on a day-to-day basis, thus ensuring a smooth day-to-day service. This role is suited to a Chef with a conscientious approach who has the commitment to deliver an exceptional service in line with customer demands
Role and responsibilities:
- Liaising with the Restaurant Manager re menu for the restaurant
- Preparation and cooking of all meals to a high standard and served in a timely manner.
- Purchasing of restaurant supplies from the Cash & Carry and external suppliers.
- Manage and champion HACCP regulations within the restaurant.
- Health & Safety adherence.
- Co-ordinating kitchen staff and assisting them as required.
- Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen
- Stock rotation and stock taking.
- Dealing efficiently with customers.
- Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary
- Any other duties associated with the running of the restaurant.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Experience, Skills and Education:
- Qualified chef with 5+ years’ experience
- Previous experience in a similar foodservice environment
- Perfectionism in sanitation and quality control
- Innovative approach to menu design with strong attention to detail
- HACCP Trained and good record-keeping skills
- Great leadership and interpersonal skills
- Expert multi-tasking ability
- Exemplary work ethic in a high-pressure environment
