When we talk about the people who make our brands, we don’t just mean the people who work directly for Musgrave – we also mean the relationships we have with our retail partners, their people, the local communities they serve, and our suppliers. Together with our retailers we employ more than 45,000 people and in Ireland alone we have 35,000 employees working in our stores, our offices and our warehouses.

Culture of engagement

We seek out outstanding individuals that we can stretch, challenge, and support to ensure they meet their career ambitions while enabling us to deliver positive business growth. Because we value our people so highly, training of our staff has always been important. In 2016 we launched the largest training and development initiative the business has seen with the support of Breakthrough Global. The aim was to drive culture change by encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset across the business. This has been transformational, ramping confidence, innovation and engagement across the company. The programme was awarded the accolade of Best Leadership Development Initiative at the prestigious IITD National Training Awards.

Graduate programme

We are proud of the fact that many people start their careers with Musgrave and stay with us throughout their working life. Our award-winning Graduate Programme has a strong track record in developing talented leaders within the business. Former graduates hold a range of roles from director to financial controller. We believe this is down to the delivery of our Graduate Programme, providing each recruit with real hands-on experience, plenty of responsibility and a rotation around the organisation allowing them to build a strong commercial sense for the business as a whole.
