Action Cancer’s Big Bus mobile screening and health promotion unit visited the Banbridge SuperValu store recently as part of its tour of Northern Ireland and staff used the opportunity to support the Ballygowan ‘B Part of It’ campaign.
The 18 metre-long mobile clinic, whose main sponsor is SuperValu and its independent retailers, was launched in 2006 to help Action Cancer save lives and support people.
As part of SuperValu’s long-term commitment to Action Cancer’s mobile cancer services, which they have sponsored since 2001, more than £800,000 of funding has been provided for the Big Bus. SuperValu stores throughout Northern Ireland host Big Bus visits and raise funds to keep the service moving.
SuperValu Banbridge used the occasion of the Big Bus visit to get involved in the Ballygowan ‘B Part of It’ campaign, which is supporting Action Cancer in Northern Ireland through the sale of special pink bottles of Ballygowan water. On the day of the Big Bus visit the SuperValu store promoted the special Ballygowan bottles with point of sale materials, pink balloons and staff wore pink T-shirts.
