Republic of Ireland
In the Republic of Ireland, the market leadership of SuperValu, Centra and MarketPlace is a great position to build on. Daybreak and Day-Today continue to grow marketshare. But there is no room for complacency. We are investing heavily in technology to make our brands even more compelling and more accessible to shoppers.
In Northern Ireland, we have tailored our SuperValu, Centra, and Mace brands to better meet the needs of convenience shoppers in this market, transforming both in-store experience and offering. We have also introduced a completely new range of ready to heat and ready to cook meal solutions, with a particular focus on local NI sourcing.
Dialprix El Súper de la Frescura – a new convenience concept in Spain. With re-designed stores and an improved, healthier offer, our Dialprix stores focus on fresh local produce, and highlight the benefits of enjoying a healthy Mediterranean diet. In the course of 2015, eight more stores adopted the concept and experienced an average of 15 per cent uplift in sales.
In 2015 we were delighted to be recognised with 94 product awards across food and non-food lines across all our brands – including 41 great taste awards and 28 Blas na h’Eireann.
