SuperValu today announced that it has signed a new agreement with Waterford supplier Dunhill Cuisine, to supply a new range of superior products, worth €1.5 million. Based in Co. Waterford, Dunhill Cuisine is one of Ireland’s leading producers of fresh ready meals to the retail and catering sectors.

This new contract sees Dunhill Cuisine supply SuperValu stores nationwide with a new range of Supreme Meals including pork fillet with caramelised apple, steak diane, chicken and pesto and haddock mornay. It will also provide a new range of Supreme side dishes including creamy mash, ratatouille, mixed green vegetables, potato gratin and roast root vegetables.

This new agreement with SuperValu further cements a relationship which has been in effect since 2009. Throughout that time, Dunhill Cuisine has grown its staff by 30% and now employs 39 people. It is expected that the new agreement will generate sales worth in the region of €1.5 million over the next twelve months for the company.

Commenting on the new agreement, Edward Spellman, Managing Director of Dunhill Cuisine said, “We are delighted to have secured this very lucrative contact with SuperValu. It is a real endorsement of the partnership we have built up since coming through the SuperValu Supplier Development Programme three years ago.”

He continued, “We pride ourselves on producing high quality ready meals at restaurant standards for SuperValu customers to enjoy. Similar to SuperValu, we listen to what the consumer wants and develop new products in line with their requirements. We make great quality meals made from local ingredients, which are well presented and at an excellent price.”

The SuperValu Supreme Meals are now available in store, retailing at €6 for a main course and a side dish.
