Experience the Best of Real Food this Christmas with SuperValu

In a first of its kind partnership from an Irish retailer, SuperValu and celebrity chef, Kevin Dundon, have teamed up to provide you with some deliciously festive food inspiration this Christmas. Kevin has devised a series of easy to follow Christmas and party recipes, practical meal ideas and unique tips to ensure that Irish families have everything they need to enjoy the festive season. Furthermore, Kevin and SuperValu will show you how to prepare each meal on ‘The Best of Real Food’ mini-series, which will air just before RTÉ’s Nine News, at 8:57pm every Wednesday night, from the 10 until the 29 of December.

During this one of a kind mini-series from SuperValu, Kevin will be sharing the secret recipes from his cookery black book. There are mouth-watering recipes with a seasonal twist and simple menus for feeding family and friends over the Christmas season with minimum fuss and maximum enjoyment. And, of course, inspiring recipes for the Main Event itself – Kevin’s famous Brussels sprouts with Caramelised Walnuts & Cranberries and his Christmas Stuffing are sure to have pride of place on your kitchen table.

To coincide with ‘The Best of Real Food’ mini-series, Kevin Dundon will be touring the country with the SuperValu Christmas Food Fairs, a series of nationwide cookery demonstrations. The events will take place over the next six weeks in 20 local SuperValu stores, all with the aim of getting the nation cooking this Christmas. All Kevin’s recipes have been designed with unbeatable value in mind to ensure that you can have a Christmas with all the trimmings, without the price tag to match. In addition, the shopping list that accompanies each recipe makes the most of quality 100 per cent Irish meat and fresh seasonal produce available at SuperValu this Christmas. The Best of Real Food mini-series airs on RTÉ One every Wednesday and will cover all of Kevin’s favourite festive recipes, including;

• Week 1:  Roast Crown of Chicken with Fricassee of Legs & Thighs
• Week 2: Pan Fried Lamb Chops with Stir fried Cabbage & Broccoli With Salt & Pepper Wedges
• Week 3: Traditional Pot Roast, with a Rich Red Wine Sauce
• Week 4: Soy & Honey Glazed Pork Chops, Potato & Sweet Potato Champ
• Week 5: Teriyaki beef stir fry
• Week 6: Smoked Salmon & Filo Parcels, and separately Whole Glazed Ham
• Week 7:Brussels sprouts with Caramelised Walnuts & Cranberries, and separately Kevin’s Christmas Stuffing
• Week 8: Pan Fried Steak, Roasted Root Vegetables
