£1 million investment for Londis retailers

There’s never been a better time to join Londis as the group announced a £1m investment in delivering lower prices on key lines for Londis retailers at its conference in Birmingham. Around 700 attended the annual event to outline plans for the year ahead as Musgrave and its Londis retail partners determined to work together to make Londis the best symbol partnership.

Donal Horgan, Managing Director, Londis, acknowledged that the current market place is tough and so too is the outlook ahead saying: “The conference theme of Growing through Emerging Stronger reflects our ambition to grow our business and emerge from this downturn a better and stronger brand”. He then introduced the robust Londis brand development plan, adding: “We will focus on pricing and discount; best offer; better simpler service and recruitment as we continue our journey to provide our customers with all they need for everyday living”.

The conference programme also included a trade show with fantastic trade-show-only deals, interactive workshops and presentations as well as the store of the year awards and gala dinner.

Julian and Jackie Taylor Green of Londis, Lindford scooped the title Londis store of the year 2011 (as well as winning the category for Londis large store of the year). Other category winners included Geoff and Teresa Turner, Londis, Hemingbrough, Selby who won Londis small store of the year; Steve Vaughan, Londis Handbridge, Chester - Londis forecourt store of the year; Londis Hendon - Londis multiple account convenience store of the year and Kay Group’s Londis Primrose Garage - Londis multiple account forecourt store of the year.
