What we do
We're in the business of creating and developing strong retail brands that deliver the best possible value, quality and range to local communities in all the markets we serve.
We work in partnership with entrepreneurial retailers in Ireland, the UK and Spain. Our approach is to co-create brands with our retail partners, and equip them with the sales, marketing, IT, finance and logistical expertise that comes with the most advanced retail model.
Our emphasis is on partnership and innovation that delivers value to consumers without compromising quality.
We also leverage our scale to ensure all our brands compete on quality and price.
Our success is based on an innovative retail model founded on our belief that local stores and retailers are the lifeblood of their communities.
We also operate a network of cash & carry outlets across the island of Ireland and Spain that has been specifically developed to meet the changing needs of the independent food retailer and foodservice professional.

Our values
We are committed to our values which are about long-term stable relationships, not being greedy, honesty, working hard and achievement.
We believe there are a number of key characteristics that can give modern family businesses like ours an edge in competitive markets. These include favouring enduring relationships over short-term gain and investing in the long term.
Family businesses are also able to build a coherent community of committed stakeholders by communicating and 'living' their values.
As a private business with a firm commitment to remaining an independent family-owned company, these are precisely the qualities that define our enduring partnerships with our retailers, suppliers and our people.

Headline results
• Musgrave sales of €4.4 billion
• Profit before tax of €72 million
• Elimination of €59 million debt (2009) to close the year with net cash of €21 million
Despite the economic crisis in Ireland and a very tough trading environment in all our markets, we delivered a good set of results in 2010.
We are strengthening our business, sharpening our offer to consumers and supporting our partners. This response to the recession is laying the foundation for the business to continue to grow through recruitment, expansion and acquisition. It is building a platform for the future which will lead to stronger and better businesses for Musgrave, our partners and our people.
