To celebrate the nationwide launch of SuperValu’s Real Rewards card, the brand is offering its loyal shoppers a 5 per cent voucher off a future shop – the more you shop, the more you save. To avail of this fantastic promotion, shoppers must collect 400 points (€1 = 1 point) in their local participating SuperValu between 6 January and Easter Sunday. When a customer reaches 400 points, they are instantly awarded with a 5 per cent voucher at the till. Additionally, shoppers are simultaneously awarded points for SuperValu’s signature ‘Getaway Breaks’ programme.

SuperValu’s research shows that the grocery market is now dominated by consumers seeking out value. Shoppers are looking for the best deal in town so added value is crucial to a weekly shop. The SuperValu Real Rewards card, plus the 5 per cent back offer, is a response to this demand in that it aims to reward customers in more than one way.

Speaking on the launch of Real Rewards, Ray Kelly, Marketing Director, SuperValu said; “SuperValu is all about delivering real savings today. With no limit on the size of the shop, the more you shop, the more you save. We expect savvy shoppers to redeem this 5% off voucher, on a key shop, for one of the many upcoming family occasions such as Valentine’s, St. Patrick’s Day or Easter.

SuperValu’s approach to its value offering is to provide shoppers with long term price cuts on everyday items, coupled with a market leading promotional and special offers programme, which allows shoppers to further reduce their weekly spend. This programme includes deals such as mix and match offers on fruit, vegetables and meat, €7 family dinners and big brands for just €1 and €2. In 2009, SuperValu invested €230 million in savings to consumers and expects this to be even higher in 2010.
